Measures of Association

The cornerstone of most statistical measures we will use is the concept of association or similarity. In the class we will Correlating variables and evaluating similarities in profiles. Bring a laptop to class.

Topics

  • representing data as vectors and matrices

  • profiles versus proximities

  • dyadic relations

    • correlation & distance

    • measures of association

  • triadic relations

    • moderating

    • mediating/intervening

Readings
